Privacy and data

Privacy and data handling in plain language

People use DateCheck in stressful moments. The privacy model is built around keeping the service useful without behaving like a permanent archive of your chats.

What we try not to retain

Raw chat text is not stored as plain retrievable conversation history. The system keeps derived signals and hashes so the analysis can work without turning your private messages into a searchable transcript.

Uploads for Deep Check are processed for OCR and then discarded on a short retention window. The goal is to reduce the blast radius if anything ever goes wrong.

What can still be retained

Analysis outcomes, reasons, community report metadata, and limited operational logs can be retained for abuse control and short-term troubleshooting. These records should help improve the service without exposing the underlying conversation.

If you submit a report, moderation data is retained because the report only helps the community if it can be reviewed and aggregated safely.

What this means for you

Only paste what is necessary to understand the pattern. If a screenshot includes unrelated private details, crop it before upload. If a decision is urgent, use the tool to support your judgment and then move quickly to the safer option.

If you want data removed, use the privacy controls or contact support through the published compliance pages.
